At times my recollection of how much produce we have at the house evades me. So we went to pick more apples on Monday at Wasem Fruit Farms west and south of here. We of course, purchased our obligatory donuts - fresh and hot, in addition to a 1/2 bushel of empires. Our picking honestly consisted of 'picking' them off the ground. I could have used a ladder or a tall friend to pick from the trees. The boys pined for some pumpkins, but I convinced them if pumpkins sit out too early our local wildlife will help w/the eventual decomposition process. They settled for 4 mini gourds to give to our neighbors who just welcomed baby number 3 & 4 Sunday night. Perfect "trip day" as Elijah has dubbed our outings. He got the idea of field trips from school and modified it. Look forward to biking tomorrow (of course, stopping at some garage sales), canoeing and church Saturday, and some much needed house, yard, and garden work in what time is left before Greg returns to work Monday morning.
