
...to reseed at will and enliven many dinners (cilantro)

... to spread (lily of the valley and sweet woodruff)

... to freshen a stale house

... to perk up the taste buds (asparagus w/o making to the house and rhubarb in the background that gets treated nicely w/sugar and strawberries)

... to provide shade to future generations (voluntary oak seedling next to the rhubarb, not what the busy squirrel had in mind)

... if properly cared for, to produce a bounty (9x15 garden plot we've started at in our neighbor's sunny yard and two curious, creative boys)
